A Carroll County sheriff's deputy was patrolling along Baltimore Boulevard in Westminster, when he spotted a blue Ford Mustang speeding past vehicles in the right turn lane around 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, the county sheriff's office said.
The Deputy initiated a traffic stop and found the driver’s license being suspended and several indicators of drug use.
The Deputy requested a K9 scan of the vehicle, however, drug paraphernalia was in plain view. Both the driver, Eric Lorenzo Purvey, 28, of Hanover, PA, and William Iser, 55, of Westminster, were detained.
Nearly 17 grams of cocaine, a loaded 9mm handgun, glass pipes commonly used for smoking, a digital scale, and more than $500 in cash were found, authorities said.
Both the driver and passenger were transported to Central Booking.
Purvey and Iser were both charged with:
- Possession with intent to distribute Narcotics
- Numerous charges related to illegal possession of a firearm
- Possession of CDS Paraphernalia
- Possession of CDS (Not cannabis)
Purvey was also charged with traffic offenses related to the initial stop.Purvey and Iser remain in custody at the Carroll County Detention Center.
